FACULTY: VIOLA & VIOLIN
Violist Timothy LaCrosse holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Viola Performance from The Juilliard School (Samuel Rhodes), Master of Music degree in Viola from The Yale School of Music (Ettore Causa), and attended the The Guildhall School of Music (London, Alexander Zemtsov). Mr. LaCrosse is a tenured member of The Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, served as Principal Violist of the National Symphony of Panama, ad was a Visiting Professor of Viola at The University of Panama. Mr. LaCrosse is a violist for various orchestras in the Washington metropolitan area and has performed in many of the world’s prestigious concert halls and festivals around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center Concert Hall, Chicago Symphony Center, Ravinia Festival, Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles), Meyerson Symphony Hall (Dallas) Copley Symphony Hall (San Diego) Barbican Center and Aldeburgh Festival in England, Lucerne Concert Hall (Switzerland) Gasteig Cultural Center and Konzerthaus Berlin in Germany, Auditorium Parco della Musicain Italy, and the Sydney Opera House in Australia. He has toured across Venezuela, Colombia, Uruguay, Brazil, and Argentina as a former member of The Youth Orchestra of the Americas. In addition to his orchestral career, he has performed chamber music at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, and Gewandhaus Leipzig (Germany). Teaching violin and viola, Mr. LaCrosse has prepared students for auditions for the National Symphony Orchestra Youth Fellowship Program and American Youth Philharmonic, both of which he is an alumnus.
